Matrimony Id and Password:

What is Matrimony ID?

A Matrimony ID is a unique combination of alphabets and a six-digit number (for example: dm123456). To identify you uniquely, a Matrimony ID is assigned to you when you register with us. This Matrimony ID is to be referred in all correspondence to Devarmatrimony.com

How do I Login?

Under the "Member Login" section, enter your "Matrimony ID" and "Password" in the respective boxes and Click on the "Submit" button to login to your account.
Also, instead of Matrimony ID, you can login using the email address you provided at the time of registration.
I forgot my Matrimony ID / Password. What should I do?
Click on the "Forgot Password" link in the home page and enter your "E-mail address" which you provided at the time of registration. Your "Matrimony ID" and "Password" will be mailed to you immediately.
How do I change my password ?
Login using your "Matrimony / Email ID" and "Password"
Under "Devarmatrimony" section in the left navigation, Click on "Change Password".
Enter your old password.
Enter your new password and confirm the same. Click on "save Password" button.
Your new password will be immediately activated. Please use the new password the next time you login.
Why am I not able to login or why is the message "Invalid Matrimony Id / E-mail ID or Incorrect Password" being displayed?
The password you have entered might be wrong. Alternatively you might be having theCAPS LOCK "On". Please check whether the password is entered in the correct case (Upper or Lower)
Please ensure that there are no spaces in the Matrimony ID typed. For e.g., it should be dm123456 not dm 1234 56
If you have forgotten your password, please click on the "Forgot Password" link to retrieve the same.
The E-mail ID you are using to login must be the same one with which you had registered on the website. Alternate E-mail IDs which you may possess will not function.
Can I choose my own Matrimony ID?
Every Matrimony ID is unique and is allocated by the system. You cannot choose your own matrimony ID since it is system generated. It cannot be changed under any circumstances.

I'm registering for my sister/brother and me. Can we both have the same Matrimony ID? A matrimony id identifies each person uniquely. Please register separate profiles for you and your sibling.

How long will it take to upgrade my profile, once I make the payment?
We will upgrade your profile as soon as we receive your payment. An e-mail confirming your up gradation will be sent to you.

We now provide quality service right at your doorstep, saving your time, money and energy.
I have made an easy payment request. How long will it take for my request to be processed?
Most requests are cleared within the next 48 hrs. If your request is not cleared within 48 hrs, contact the branch offices or contact info@devarmatrimony.com with your easy payment request number.
Post / Courier
How do I make the payment through post / courier?

You can send cheque/DD/MO along with your Matrimony ID to our address. Please send cheques in the local currency of the office to which it is sent. Click here for address.

How long will it take to upgrade my profile if I have made the payment by Cheque/DD through post or courier?
We will upgrade your profile once we receive your payment. If you have made the payment and your profile is still not upgraded kindly contact our office mailto or send a mail to info@devarmatrimony.com along with your payment details.
Register Profile Free
How do I add my profile?
Click on the link Register New Profile / Register New Free
The form to add your profile will be displayed. Give all the necessary as well as optional details asked in the form. Click on submit button.
Give as many details as possible, including your contact details in full. This will increase the chances of your profile being displayed when our members search for matches.
After you submit your information, your profile will be automatically created and you shall be generated a "Matrimony ID" for future references.
All the profiles are validated before inclusion in the database. It may take up to 24 hours for the validation. An E-mail would be sent to you once the profile is added.
The profiles are validated for statutory regulations of the site to avoid pornography and various other factors and to have uniformity in the database.
Why do you take 24 hrs for validation?
Validation of profiles is done manually. Our support team meticulously validates each and every profile carefully on specific criterion before it is added to our database. Hence, it takes 24 hrs to validate all the profiles that are being added on one particular day.
On what criteria is the validation done?
Almost every word counts. We categorically ignore profiles that are submitted by underage persons, and profiles that contain abusive content. We reject profiles that contain invalid data such as added for fun/ looking for friendship / not related to marriage. We try to maintain the highest quality in our database served. We approve only the persons who are interested in marriage and has an eligible age for the same.
What are the Do's and Don'ts while creating a matrimonial profile ?
Do's
While creating a matrimonial profile, give brief information about yourself in the profile description part.
Try your best to touch upon various aspects of your life like
Your personality (what kind of a person you are, your likes and dislikes)
Your educational and professional background and achievements.
Your family (how many members, family values - conservative or modern).
Your career plans.
Your expectations from a soul-mate.
Add a recent photograph to improve chances of getting responses.

Our repeated suggestion: Profiles with photos have 10 times better chances of getting proposals.

Don'ts
Please do not give a lengthy description. Try to keep your description short and complete and do not get into the minutest details.
Please do not try to display your contact details in your matrimonial profile, except in the space provided for contact details.
Do not include content that is vulgar or racist.

Can I register for my friend, relative or sibling?

Yes! In fact we have a number of profiles being registered by parents, siblings, relatives etc.
What should I enter in the profile description field?
This is where you reveal yourself - your personality, your likes and dislikes, your educational and family background, career and personal interests, and expectations about your partner. Try to give a clear self-description and enter your expectations clearly and completely. A good description will always fetch instant responses. Look at the sample profile below, which is clear, brief and has all the important details in a well-organized manner.
Example:
I am a friendly, fun-loving person. I have a pleasing personality. I did my Bachelors in Dental Surgery. I am working as an associate doctor in a private clinic for the past 3 years in Chennai. My hobbies are listening to music (any kind of music, whichever is soothing) and traveling.

We have an open minded, religious family. Father is a retired Asst. Engineer. From U.P state government and mother is a religious, simple, loving and caring house wife. I have two brothers- both elder and married. Elder one is an Engineer in Indian Air Force. Younger one is employed in a reputed glass factory. My ideal partner will be some one who is intelligent, caring, broad minded and has a good sense of humor. I believe that love, trust, understanding and commitment are the four pillars of any relation and this is what I am looking for in my partner.

What information will be displayed to members from my profile?
All fields except your Contact details will be displayed to free members.
Can I register profiles for my sibling and me with the same email id?

No. You cannot. We check for the availability of the email. So you cannot provide two same email ID's.

I don't want to add my profile but wish to contact other profiles. Is it possible?
Profile addition on the site is mandatory. Without adding a profile you cannot proceed to contact other members. When you add your profile, a unique matrimony id is assigned to you. This id is required for you to login, make a payment and contact profiles.
Modify Profile
How do I modify my profile?
To modify your profile contents,
Login using your "Matrimony / Email ID" and "Password"
Under the "Devarmatrimony" section in the left navigation, Click on the "Modify Profile" option.
You can modify the profile contents that are displayed and confirm it by Clicking on the "Modify Profile" button.
How long will it take for the modifications to reflect on my profile?
It will take a maximum of 24 hrs, since the modifications go through a validation process before being added to the profile.
Are there any restrictions on modifications?

All members are restricted from changing their gender. All other contents can be modified by the member as often as they wish to do so.

How do I delete my profile?
You should contact the office directly regarding deleting your profile.
Please note that profiles once deleted cannot be restored or reactivated.
If you found your life-partner through our services then please post your success story in our website. Your success story is our key motivation.
Is it possible to restore the deleted profile?
Your profile once deleted from our database cannot be restored/reactivated.

What are the types of Search?
Quick Search : It is a convenient way to search for a list of prospective partners based on a few basic fields. Search by Matrimony Id: If you are looking for someone in specific and know their matrimony Id then this search is the best.
Advanced Search : This search allows you to find members more specific to your preference.
What is the "Search Profiles" option?
This is a more specific search compared to quick search. Ideal for anyone who would like to narrow down on the search details.
What is advanced search?
Advanced Search is designed to cover every aspect of your search criteria and this will deliver profiles matching your specific criteria. Advanced Search has additional options of searching for profiles using keywords, caste no bar option, search on the basis of residing state and physical status to further bring profiles closest to your expectations. You can also search for manglik profiles.
How do I view a particular profile?

I get the error "No matching records found" while searching for the profiles. Why is that so?
Please check your search criteria. If you are searching for a particular sub caste, try rephrasing your spellings. We suggest you to use partial names or try all the possible spellings in the sub caste field, for example: Agamudaiyar, Kallar etc. to get profiles of a particular sub caste.

How do I get in touch with members of my interest?

Login using your "Matrimony/email ID" and "Password"
To search for profiles, under "Profile Id Search" in the left navigation link and enter your preferences.
Now, click on the "Go" button to view a specific profile, enter the Profile id in the place provided for that in your left menu. Enter the Matrimony ID of the profile you are interested in and click on the "Go" button.
Profile(s) will be listed in both search and view profile by ID options.

What is the Inbox?

Any Contact Message you have received will be stored in your Inbox.

How do I add a photo to my profile?
Login using your "Matrimony/email ID" and "Password"
Click on the "myphotomanager" link on the left side menu.
You will be taken to the Add Photo Page
Click on the "Upload Photo" link
Click the 'Browse' button and select the digital photo (in JPG /GIF format) you wish to add to your profile.
Click on "Add Photo" to add the photo to your profile.

The photo will be added as your Main Photo. You now have the option of adding up to 3 photos to your profile. You can also manage your photos and decide which should be your main photo.

I am encountering problems in adding my digital photo to my profile. What do I do?
Please send your photo as an E-mail attachment to info@devarmatrimony.com in JPG / GIF format, along with your Matrimony Id and password. Please mention which photo should be added as the main photo. We will add the photo to your profile and send you the confirmation.
I do not have a digital photo. How do I add my photo?
If you do not have a digital (scanned) photo you can send your photo to our offices, with your Matrimony Id and password. Please mention which photo should be added as the main photo. We will scan the photo and upload it for you. This service is absolutely FREE. If you want your photo to be returned to you, please include a self-addressed envelope with prepaid postage.
Can I add more than one photo to my profile?
Yes. You can add a maximum of 2 photos to your profile.
Can I choose which photo should be displayed as the Main Photo in my profile?
Yes. You can manage your photos and choose what should be displayed as your Main Photo in your profile.
How do I change a photo in my profile?
Login using your "Matrimony/email ID" and "Password"
Click on the "photo manager" link in the left menu.
Click on the "modify" link above the photo you wish to change.
If you want to delete it permanently please click the delete option
I got an error while uploading my photo. What could be the reason?
You could have got an error if your file is not in JPG /GIF format or if the file size of the photo is more than 100 KB. We accept digital photo files only in the JPG / GIF format and less than 100 KB in size.
How do I protect my photo?
To ensure your privacy, you can protect your photo with a password. You can give the password to prospective alliances upon communication.

Enter your photo password (different from profile password) and re-enter it for confirmation. Click on the "Submit" button.
Please note that this option is available only for Paid members.
How do I view protected photos?
If a photo prompts for a password to be viewed when you try to view it, it means that this member has protected his/her photo for privacy reasons. To view a protected photo, you need a photo password. Contact the member and get the photo password to view the photo.

Can I protect my horoscope?
Yes. But only a Paid Member would be able to protect his/her horoscope.
How do I protect my horoscope?
To ensure your privacy, you can protect your horoscope with a password. You can give the password to prospective alliances upon communication.

Enter your horoscope password (different from profile password)
Click on the "Go" button.

How do I view protected horoscopes?
If a horoscope prompts for a password to be viewed when you try to view it, it means that this member has protected his/her horoscope for privacy reasons. To view a protected horoscope, you need a horoscope password. Contact the member and get the horoscope password to view the horoscope.

What is Request Horoscope?
If a member has not added his/her horoscope that you'd like to view, you could request the member to add it. Please note you can Request Horoscope only if you have added your horoscope.
Replies and Responses
What are "Sent Messages" and "Received Messages"?
"Sent Messages" folder contains a list of messages that you have sent to other members. "Inbox" folder contains list of messages that you have received from other members.

To view a list of Messages Sent/Received,

Click on the "Sent Messages" or "inbox" under "my email manager" section to view a list of profiles and respective messages sent and received.
I'm a free member. If any member is contacting me, where do I view their response to my profile?
Messages will be instantly sent to your "inbox" folder. Intimation that you have received a message from a member will be sent to your E-mail address.

How can I improve my chances of finding a match?
While adding your profile, try to give a clear self-description. Try as far as possible to include details of your personality, family and educational background, career and profession. Keep the description brief and precise.
For example: (I am a simple and straightforward person coming from a conservative Agamudaiyar family. I am a b.com graduate with intense inclination towards my career and development. My hobbies include singing and painting. Ours is a close-knit family of four. My father is a retired civil engineer and my mother is a homemaker. Elder brother is married and well - settled. I did not receive any response for my profile. Why?
On an average, around 1% of the profiles are entered with misspelled E-mail address or wrong E-mail address. If you have not received any E-mail from our system, please login using your "Matrimony / E-mail ID" and "Password" on the home page and click on the Modify Profile option to correct the E-mail address.

What is a Filter?
Using the Filter option you can specify who can view your profile. You could choose from the following filter options.
Only registered members can view my detailed profile. - This filter allows your profile to be viewable by only Registered members. Visitors or non-members cannot.
Only registered members who pass my filter can view my detailed profile. ? This filter allows only Registered members who pass through a criteria set by you to view your profile. You can set the criteria based on Domain, Mother Tongue, Marital Status, Age and Country Living in.
Only the members whom I contact can view my detailed profile. ? This filter allows only members whom you contact to be able to view your profile.
